EAD 866- Teaching in Postsecondary Education.  In this class one of the practical assignments was to interview and observe a teacher in the classroom and then write a paper based on that.  I had a rare experience when I observed the teacher in the classroom as the material he was expected to teach had already been covered by a co-teacher.  Read about my observations of my colleague.  A second project that we looked at was on the Teaching Experience and I made a Prezi for this lecture on Stress.  Click on Teaching Experience to read the paper and on Prezi to see the presentation.

EAD 877- Program Planning and Evaluation in Postsecondary Education.  This course went over the step by step method on how to plan a program, implement it and evaluate its effectiveness in the College classroom.  The program I had planned was a mock disaster that joined my students, students from the nursing program, the hairdressing program (for makeup) at the college, new paramedics, auxiliary police and volunteer fire fighers.  The initial scenario was that of a plane crash, there were other smaller scenarios like a fire, collision and domestic disturbance that students had to react to. ******Some photographs are graphic in nature****** Click on the image to the left to view some of the photos from this scenario based learning project.  Double click to make image bigger.   Photo credits to Fanshawe London photography students, Agata L, Phil and John from London Campus.  We also completed a wiki in our group assignment for this class, please consider having a look at our group work.

EAD 861 - Adult Learning-  This course covered the differences between teaching adults and children.  It also covered some of the differences between older adults and younger adults.  Experiential learning and active learning techniques are beneficial to everyone but it is even more important to use these techniques with adults.  Adult learning is a continuous process.  Click here to read my paper on adult learning.    We also did some group work in this course and designed a program for the use of interest based bargaining in the workplace.
